We are looking for a Kitchen Cook (Part-Time) – Clevedon Community Centre (Squirrels Café)
Location: Sunhill House, Clevedon, North Somerset
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM (25 hours per week)
Job Type: Part-time, Permanent
About Us
Clevedon Community Centre is home to our on-site café/restaurant, Squirrels, serving the local community in North Somerset. We provide home-cooked meals, drinks, and occasional catering services for our room hirers.
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Kitchen Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in cooking, a good understanding of food safety practices, and a friendly approach to customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare a range of home-cooked meals from our set menu each morning
Serve tea, coffee, and light refreshments to customers
Collaborate with an assistant who will manage lunch orders and front-of-house service from around 11:00 AM
Provide catering for pre-booked cold lunches and assist with setting up drinks stations for room hirers
Monitor stock levels and place orders as required
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
Requirements
Proven cooking skills and experience in a similar environment
Knowledge of food safety regulations (Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred)
Good customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for occasional restocking trips)
