We are looking for a Kitchen Cook (Part-Time) – Clevedon Community Centre (Squirrels Café)

Location: Sunhill House, Clevedon, North Somerset

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM (25 hours per week)

Job Type: Part-time, Permanent

About Us

Clevedon Community Centre is home to our on-site café/restaurant, Squirrels, serving the local community in North Somerset. We provide home-cooked meals, drinks, and occasional catering services for our room hirers.

Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Kitchen Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in cooking, a good understanding of food safety practices, and a friendly approach to customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare a range of home-cooked meals from our set menu each morning

• Serve tea, coffee, and light refreshments to customers

• Collaborate with an assistant who will manage lunch orders and front-of-house service from around 11:00 AM

• Provide catering for pre-booked cold lunches and assist with setting up drinks stations for room hirers

• Monitor stock levels and place orders as required

• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness

Requirements

• Proven cooking skills and experience in a similar environment

• Knowledge of food safety regulations (Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred)

• Good customer service and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

• UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for occasional restocking trips)
